DEADLINE issue 2 Cover - JOHNNY NEMO - BRETT EWINS art

Cover to the second issue of DEADLINE magazine, the legendary UK antholgy that launched TANK GIRL and a host of other characters into the world. Published in November 1988.

DEADLINE magazine was started by Brett Ewins and Steve Dillon, after Brett managed to get Tom Astor to bankroll a totally independent Comic art / music magazine for the 80s! It revolutionised UK comics and brought a new rougher approach to comic making!

For DEADLINE, Brett drew new JOHNNY NEMO stories ( a character he had co-created with Peter Milligan ). Johnny Nemo and Tank Girl became DEADLINE's backbone.

DEADLINE magazine is about to be relaunched later this year, and Johnny Nemo will be back in action!

Fully painted in acrylic on art paper,  37.5 x 52 cm. in very good condition.
